Not much to say about this one, seeing as how it's a rather niche read. Suffice it to say: if you play Final Fantasy XIV (which you should — it's a remarkably well-done MMO) and at least sort of care about the plot (which, again, you should, because it's excellent), you'll get a kick out of this. It's beautifully designed, has a lot of lovely artwork, and really digs into the worldbuilding and lore in a clear and well-organized way.It makes the storyline much easier to track, admittedly. Not much to say about this one, seeing as how it's a rather niche read. Suffice it to say: if you play Final Fantasy XIV (which you should — it's a remarkably well-done MMO) and at least sort of care about the plot (which, again, you should, because it's excellent), you'll get a kick out of this. It's beautifully designed, has a lot of lovely artwork, and really digs into the worldbuilding and lore in a clear and well-organized way.It makes the storyline much easier to track, admittedly. Character profiles, timelines of major events, outlines of the jobs, races, groups, and areas: it's pretty much all there. Keep in mind that it only covers things up through the Heavensward expansion, though.

This book was my Christmas gift from my fiancee last year. I am a huge Final Fantasy fan and I was so intrigued by the world of Eorzea while spending time on FFXIV! Everything about this encyclopedia is breathtaking. The mesmerizing illustrations, the lyrical lore discription, absolutely magical and extraordinary. I had such a blast for each and every page I turned around. A magnificent art work that is a must have for every FF enthusiast.

THIS IS NICHE AF AND PROBABLY BIASED BUT.....But a must-buy/must-read for anyone remotely interested in a deep dive into the lore of XIV. First volume covers lore from patches 1.0 to 3.55 (original 2010 release until the release of Stormblood). Wonderful reference material for speculations, roleplay, and takes being reference material pretty seriously.
Also, this book was designed WITHOUT a barcode or any sort of sales material on the cover itself to preserve the image of being an actual written

A must have for any fan of Final Fantasy XIV. Everything from the core game and first expansion are covered in this book in stunning detail. If you didn't read every single thing in the game or perhaps didn't have time for every side quest this is a great catch up. Even if you have done everything in the game this is a fantastic resource. Delightfuly solid supporting material for FFXIV. Game backstory books are usually an afterthought. This one is surpisingly well built, offering much detail at both global and local level, down to sociologic commentary on the society's approach to attempts to turn Dalamud back to its orbit. I had a lot of fun reading this.

A must have for any XIV player, the amount of extra lore and background this book offers along with the amazing artwork makes this absolutely worth it to own.
